The Human Rights Network of Uganda (HURINET-U) with funding support from Diakonia is implementing a Human Rights and Gender Awareness Project designed to address the problem of gender based human rights violations and abuse faced by human rights defenders (HRDs) and citizenry. One of the fundamental activities of this project is the training of HRDs on engendering human rights programming and handling of gender sensitive human rights violations and abuse complaints as well the training of the media on investigation and reporting of gender sensitive human rights violations and abuse.
